UK vintage Caterpillar fan club, ‘The Link Club’, has reached an online milestone with 10,000 views of its photostream since it was set up just 8 months ago.
The vintage Caterpillar enthusiasts, and proponents of Lastability, have a reason to celebrate as the number of visitors visiting their photostream, hosted on Flickr, has soared to over 10,000 in just the 8 short months since its launch.
Chairman of the Link Club David Wills said: “Since the establishment of the new club in 2010 we have worked hard to create and build a new identity for ourselves, while maintaining a voice for Caterpillar enthusiasts in the UK and Europe.
“When the club found out about Lastability we approached Finning to show our support and develop our membership. Since then, Finning has provided the club with its own page on the Lastability website and suggested we set up a Flickr photostream to link to our page where we can display our labours of love. From these beginnings we have achieved more than we ever thought we could.
“We never expected the level of support we have received since launching the page and the enormous number of hits the photostream has had. This just shows how powerful the internet is as a communicative tool; its definitely given the Link Club added Lastability.”
Finning General Manager for Sales Operations Tim Ballard commented: “Finning is really pleased to be supporting the Link Club. I’m not surprised with the success that they have received through their webpage and photostream, they have some great stories and have got the photos to back them up.
“Some of the machines these guys keep running are over 70 years old, which is a testament to the quality of the machinery, as well as the knowledge and hard work of the people who keep them going.
“They are truly Lastability personified.”
